چکیده

In this work, using Density Functional, Hartree-Fock and Extended H uckel Theories together with the supercell and cluster model approaches, we present our preliminary results for the simulation of the adsorption of Si and C atoms over the (111) SiC surfaces as well as the torsion of SiC molecules at that surfaces. Our results shown that, before and after the adsorption, the cubic structure are the most stable one, when compared with the hexagonal ones. However, the torsional energy barrier between the cubic and the hexagonal structures is small enough that, at the conditions of SiC growth, it facilitates the SiC polytype formation.

The effects of Na & Mg adsorption on the electrical properties of SiCNTs: A DFT study

In the present study we focused on the electronic and structural properties of Na and Mg adsorption on the surface of the (6, 6) armchair SiCNTs. The adsorption energy (Eads), band gap energy (Eg), partial density of state (PDOS), chemical potential (μ), global hardness (η), electrophilicity index (ω), global softness (S), work function values (φ) and work function change (Δφ) are calculated by...

شبیه سازی خواص الاستیک نانو کامپوزیت Al-SiC با استفاده از روش دینامیک مولکولی

In the present work, molecular dynamics simulation method was used for determining Young's modulus, Shear modulus and Poisson’s ratio of Al-SiC nanocomposites, with different volume fractions of the reinforcements. For simulation, the open source package, LAMMPS, was used. After putting Aluminum and Silicon Carbide atoms in their initial positions, interatomic potentials between them were defi...

Controlled surface functionalization via self-selective metal adsorption and pattern transformation on the vicinal Si(111) surface

We demonstrate a self-selective metal adsorption and pattern transformation process on vicinal Si 111 surfaces. When Au atoms are deposited onto the self-organized periodic Si 111 surface patterns, the Au atoms self-select to adsorb predominantly onto one of the two distinct domains, the Si 111 terrace or the stepbunched facet at different Au coverage. This leads to a systematic transformation ...

Adsorption processes of hydrogen molecules on SiC(001), Si(001) and C(001) surfaces

Adsorption processes of hydrogen molecules on the Si(001)-(2× 1) and C(001)-(2× 1) surfaces are discussed in light of our previous studies of H2 adsorption on the related SiC(001)-c(4× 2) surface. Very amazingly, there are pathways above the latter on which hydrogen molecules can adsorb dissociatively at room temperature. One of these pathways has not been considered before for adsorption of H2...

Influences of H on the Adsorption of a Single Ag Atom on Si(111)-7 × 7 Surface

The adsorption of a single Ag atom on both clear Si(111)-7 × 7 and 19 hydrogen terminated Si(111)-7 × 7 (hereafter referred as 19H-Si(111)-7 × 7) surfaces has been investigated using first-principles calculations. The results indicated that the pre-adsorbed H on Si surface altered the surface electronic properties of Si and influenced the adsorption properties of Ag atom on the H terminated Si ...
